Driven by Determination. When I first applied to college I ambitously persued a Psychology degree, I wanted to make a name for myself, however, I quickly drowned in course material and lack of foundation. Fast-forward many years of trial and error, my efforts of obtaining a degree began to feel like a waste of time, money, and resources. I remember sharing with one of my closest friends of how defeating it felt putting in so much work only to realize the career path I had chosen simply wasn't for me. Since then, I experimented with just about every job under the sun from Salesman, to Contracter, to Electrician, you name it!
After a late diagnosis of ADHD I had to take a step back to evaluate myself and how I could make my diagnosis work in my favor. I explored my interests and tried to build something from that. Eventually, I landed on tech with hopes that I'd find success.
I had no idea where to start or what my niche would be but I had a mission.
I started learning Python watching tutorials and taking courses on Udemy pouring close to 8 hours a day studying just trying to build a simple login screen; but I was still missing something, community.
After making a post on Twitter looking to join an Agency I'd been seeing alot of called #100Devs, whose goal was to teach the fundamentals of Web Development, I started learning HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. Here I am almost 2 years later and loving every minute of what I do. Between pushing coding solutions
daily to building small projects, coding is like a Rubix cube of endless possiblities. I love that everyday could be the same or drastically different depending on what you're working on. My journey may have just begun but as your new Software Engineer, I'll take pride in putting my best foot forward on any development team.
Professional & Personal This section explores the projects and lessons I've learned along the way.
Vici Nail Bar is a client site for a local nail salon. I worked with SASS, php, HTML, CSS, & Javascript on this project and it's currently in production as I continue to devlope my skills
Molarific Dentisty is a personal project I took on to learn how to add smooth scrolling to my projects. I learned how to position elements into columns, and set up a company blog with a scrolling testimony section.
JitterBug CoffeeCo was my first attempt to create a WordPress site. I played around with adding and removing different elements. The 3d expresso shop that is paired with it was created using blender where I learned about extrusion, rendering, lighting, and shading.
I drafted this site for a local bridal boutique, with my previous knowledge I was able to recreate a design I'd found on the web. I learned how to add line animation on page load, and utilized flexbox to position text around images
Languages & Frameworks I've recived multiple endorsements in the following:
The list continues to grow as I am currently working towards certifications in Cyber Security and Machine Learning.
